Information Security Architect | On-site – Aldermaston
Up to £90 per hour via Umbrella
ABOUT THE CLIENT:
Our client plays a vital role in the UK's defence infrastructure, operating within one of the most secure and regulated environments in the country. Due to increasing demands across high-impact IT and infrastructure programmes, they are seeking a Cyber Security Architectural Lead to provide specialist oversight, assurance, and leadership in all areas of information risk and security architecture.
THE INFORMATION SECURITY ARCHITECT ROLE:
Act as the primary security architecture lead for complex IT systems and programmes
Develop and apply security architecture principles aligned with HMG, MoD, and NCSC standards
Guide solution architects on embedding security controls and designs across project lifecycles
Review and assure high/low-level solution designs for compliance and risk mitigation
Facilitate system accreditations and interface with NCSC and other national authorities
Conduct technical risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and IT Health Checks
Lead Security Working Groups and represent security interests in cross-functional settings
Provide leadership in embedding security architecture best practices across the wider team
INFORMATION SECURITY ARCHITECT ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Strong background as a Security Architect in secure or classified environments
Deep understanding of security frameworks, architecture methodologies, and enterprise-level security principles
Experience working with HMG, MoD, and NCSC guidance and accreditation processes
Demonstrable experience in developing and assuring secure designs and technical risk assessments
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
