Job Description:

My client is seeking a skilled and proactive Senior IT Technician to join their school's IT support team in Hemel Hempstead. This role is integral in ensuring the smooth operation of the school's IT systems, providing technical support to staff and students, and maintaining a secure and efficient IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1st-3rd line technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
Manage and maintain the school's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud-based systems.
Support the implementation and maintenance of educational software and learning management systems.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across a range of devices (PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, interactive whiteboards, etc.).
Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems, including managing user access controls, backups, and antivirus solutions.
Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects and system upgrades.
Maintain accurate records of IT assets, software licenses, and support requests.
Provide training and guidance to staff and students on IT best practices and cyber security.
Liaise with third-party vendors and service providers when necessary.

Key Requirements:

Previous experience in an IT support role, ideally within an educational setting.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Office 365.
Familiarity with networking protocols, firewalls, and wireless network management.
Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues across multiple platforms.
Understanding of data protection regulations and cybersecurity best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support non-technical users.
