Are you an experienced IT professional looking to take full ownership of an internal IT environment? My client, a well-established food production company in Edinburgh, is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to manage and maintain their on-site infrastructure. This is a sole IT role on-site, where you'll handle 2nd and 3rd line issues, oversee business-as-usual operations, and lead IT projects, while a Managed Service Provider (MSP) supports 1st line tickets remotely. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape IT operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Daily Duties:

Managing on-site infrastructure, ensuring reliability and performance.
Handling 2nd and 3rd line escalations, working on more complex technical issues.
Leading IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and network improvements.
Collaborating with external MSPs for 1st line ticket resolution and escalations.
Ensuring cybersecurity best practices and compliance with industry standards.
Maintaining IT documentation and disaster recovery procedures.
Supporting hardware and software troubleshooting across production and office environments.
Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance IT efficiency.Tech Stack:

Operating Systems: Windows Server, Windows 10/11.
Cloud Services: Microsoft 365, Azure AD.
Networking: VLANs, Firewalls, Switches (Cisco, Ubiquiti).
Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V.
Security & Backups: Veeam, Endpoint Security Solutions.
