Job Title: Contract Technical Architect

Location: Sheffield (Hybrid)

Contract: 6-Month Initial Contract (via Umbrella)

Industry: Financial Services

We are seeking a Technical Architect to join a leading financial services client on a 6-month initial contract. This hybrid role, based in Sheffield, requires a highly skilled professional to design, implement, and manage IT systems, bridging technical and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement IT systems, considering infrastructure, storage, and networking requirements.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate business needs into technical solutions.

  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and platforms to align with business objectives.

  • Define and document solution architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

  • Provide technical leadership to development teams and support system integrations.

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to the solution’s design and implementation.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance system capabilities.

    Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven expertise in systems design and enterprise architecture.

  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including Storage, Networking, Active Directory (AD), Unix, and enterprise on-premises environments.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Visio, etc.) for documentation and reporting.

  • Primary experience with Linux and familiarity with Windows, particularly in storage and backup solutions.

  • Awareness of cybersecurity principles (excluding cybersecurity recovery responsibilities).

  • Experience with Veritas, Commvault, and other multiplatform tools.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to problem-solve creatively.
