Job Description

AsSecurity Engineeryou will make significant contribution to the Security aspects of System Design of C4I Systems on our programmes through application of world class Security Engineering expertise.

The role will be responsible for providing security domain expertise, with a focus on usability, interoperability and multi-security domain operations set within the wider context of the UK Defence Enterprise. The role is intended to affect both internal and customer proposals to ensure that we maintain an offering that is oriented to the future, and highly aligned with the wider defence infrastructure.

The role will include:

Maintenance of Security design and impact assessment of in-service systems Development of new security solutions for system uplifts Development of new gateway devices for connectivity with external systems

The successful candidate will work in multi-disciplined teams to deliver outputs that meet customer needs to defined quality standards within agreed timescales and budget. The role will need to operate in a collaborative environment, contributing and building winning proposals and successful, accredited projects.

Qualifications

Essential

Previous experience of implementation and compliance with any of the following Security Architectural Frameworks:

System Administration and Networking and Security (SANS) Institute Framework; National Institute of Standards Technology Framework SP 800-53; National Institute of Standards Technology Cyber Security Framework NATO Communications Information Agency (NCIA) Standards; ISO 27001 (2013); BS ISO/IEC 27001:2013; Infosec Standard 1&2 (IS1&2); European Directive on security of Networks and Information Systems Directive (NIS Directive); and any other demonstrably relevant standard or framework (SABSA, COBIT etc.) Ability to present formally at progress reviews and contribute productively in meetings with all stakeholders.

Desirable:

Experience of delivering across all phases of the engineering Lifecycle Good understanding of the OSI model. Understanding of computer and network infrastructures. Understanding of Military Hardware Experienced in the use of engineering tools for Requirement Management and System Design

Additional Information

Salary for this position is£45,600 to £63,000, depending on experience plus our excellent flexible benefits package.

We offer hybrid working - for this role ideally we are looking for an average of 2 days per week per month on site.
