Join as an Azure Cloud Security Engineer Within the infrastructure security architecture team, your core purpose will be acting as the go-to subject matter expert between the wider Technology Security area and Cloud Platform Engineering team for the large Microsoft Azure estate within Tesco. You will also support security teams within Technology Security in helping them achieve their security goals, using your knowledge and experience of Azure.
We’re looking for someone who has experience working with Azure at an enterprise or equivalent scale engineering-led organisation. The ideal candidate understands the nuances of dealing with a large array of engineering and infrastructure stakeholders, has been responsible for designing and implementing security initiatives, and supports colleagues across the business. You should be able to understand, translate, and advise on Azure concepts to people who may lack Azure expertise.
Responsibilities Managing Azure Policy direction and supporting exemptions.
Ensuring the design, review, and delivery of Azure Policies and assessing the viability of upcoming policies/approaches.
Assessing the suitability and impact of Azure policy exemptions at various scopes and creating exemptions accordingly. Responsible for providing approvals after assessments.
Acting as an SME advisor by assessing the impact of upcoming Azure security-related change initiatives and ensuring compliance with security policies and standards.
Delivering security controls through centralized controls or reducing friction in consuming organizational infrastructure.
Working with key business functions to provide security architecture advice and review control appropriateness.
Collaborating with senior stakeholders in Cloud Platform Engineering and Infrastructure Architect teams to support security deliverables and assess upcoming changes with a security lens.
Qualifications and Skills Knowledge of Azure best practices and experience working with teams.
Proficiency with Azure CLI, PowerShell, or Azure Graph REST API.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior Azure architecture or engineering role.
Ability to operate independently with limited support and communicate effectively with infrastructure, security, and software development engineers.
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure. Knowledge of other cloud platforms is a plus but not essential.
