Employing more than 1,800 people, Boeing Defence UK provides long-term support for more than 120 Boeing military rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircrafts in the UK. For example, the Chinook and Apache helicopters, and the Poseidon and C-17 airplanes. Our support ranges from mission critical Logistics Information Services, next generation in-flight digital tools, to aircraft and operational modelling and simulation methodology.

Leveraging our established defence business in the UK, and blending our local expertise with our ‘One Boeing’ global approach, Boeing Defence UK is well positioned to support the UK with its current and future defence and security challenges.

The Role

Boeing’s Defence UK Digital Function is at the forefront of delivering innovative programmes within the Defence and Security sectors across the UK. We are seeking a Security Architect to join our team of skilled Architects. This role will primarily focus design and execution of a significant programme of work for the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in the Engineering and Logistics domain.

Please note:this role is subject to successful Contract Award.

This is an on-site based role, with flexibility for occasional remote working at the discretion of the management team.

Primary Responsibilities

As part of your role, your duties and responsibilities will include:

Establishing and evolving system architecture, ensuring it meets user needs and system and security requirements. Ensuring security architectural approach for systems integrates with overall programme enterprise architecture. Providing an accurate categorisation of threats, threat actors, and vulnerabilities, delivered through the completion of security threat and risk assessments of ICT and / or OT systems. Developing security policies, procedures, and plans, to ensure effective governance. Preparing security design impact assessments (customer or Boeing trade off driven) for systems product and services. Creating and maintaining security design baselines. Presenting system designs at Joint Solution Coherence Reviews. Supporting development of security verification test plans. Generating and maintaining design baselines. Please note that the above list is not exhaustive and you’ll be required to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required.

Person Specification

Technical knowledge and understanding should be evidenced with appropriate professional qualifications. Knowledge of government security standards and processes such as ISO27001 standards, CEF, Cyber Essentials, NIST & Cyber Essentials Plus, GDPR, and DCPP. Experience of delivering secure service solutions against project expectations. Awareness of industry best practice. Excellent communication and planning skills. Understanding of Zero Trust methodology. Comprehensive knowledge of MOD, DEFSTAN / JSP standards. Demonstrable experience in Cloud Architecture, preferably Azure. Use of repository based Enterprise Architecture modelling tools (e.g., Sparx EA, Mega, iServer, System Architect). Degree-level education preferred.

Security Clearance and Eligibility
