Principal Security Engineer - Quant Trading Firm | Up to £300k TC

One of the world's leading quantitative trading firms are searching for a Security Engineer to build secure architectural principles into their environment as they proactively scale and modernise their applications and infrastructure. You will play a decisive role in driving the firm's security strategy, owning end to end development from architectural design through to implementation.

Role Details:

  • Redesign security across their applications and colocation infrastructure to drive improvements to security and resilience
  • Build and scale secure and efficient systems
  • Improve infrastructure security by setting up automated firewall policies, securing logs and key materials, and hardening containers and servers
  • Improve visibility and security controls via enhanced auditing while continuing to maintain platform performance
  • Implement a Zero-Trust Architecture - Building identity into system communications and ensuring host/service verification
  • Use automation to track and reduce risks
  • Drive security strategy in line with the following principles - Visibility, Simplicity, Isolation, Fault Tolerance, and Retaining Platform Speed

Requirements:

  • Software Developer Level Coding Skills (C#, Java, Go, Rust, or C++)
  • Experience building efficient, secure systems.
  • Broad understanding of security across applications, networks, and infrastructure
  • Strong secure deployment, container hardening, and access control experience
  • Zero Trust architectures, SPIFFE/SPIRE, and authentication tools like Teleport or Consul.
  • Stress testing experience
