About the team As an Offensive Security Engineer at Tide, you’ll join the Threat Detection and Response team—a highly motivated and talented group of Tideans who love to collaborate and are driven by helping people achieve their business ambitions. Our security team is responsible for securing Tide, our Tideans, and our Members.
About the role As an Offensive Security Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Reviewing web/mobile applications, source code, operating systems, and network security architectures; identifying vulnerabilities and defining effective strategies for remediation and hardening.
Identifying gaps in controls and vulnerabilities in our Cloud infrastructure with containerized environments and GitOps deployment pipelines.
Thinking critically to identify areas of technical and non-technical risk.
Researching and developing tools, techniques, and exploits specific to Tide.
Triaging and validating external security submissions when required.
Communicating findings and remediation actions effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
Coaching engineers in security principles and practices.
Partnering with internal security and engineering teams to uncover vulnerabilities and detection opportunities.
Identifying weaknesses in product security controls, including vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and procedural gaps.
Planning and scoping internal/external penetration testing with Tide engineering teams.
Supporting Incident Response with your red team expertise.
What we are looking for A passion for security and secure application design, with a love for helping engineers create more secure web and mobile applications.
Ability to explain security issues clearly to product owners, engineers, VPs, and executives, with a focus on enhancing product resilience.
Experience working within the Fintech or tech sector.
Experience in a fast-scaling business environment.
Experience in attack simulation and vulnerability research.
Proficiency in writing tooling in Python, Java, Go, etc.
Experience in security assessments for:
Mobile/Web applications and APIs, Mac/Windows, and exposure to LLM testing.
