Partner with GTIO Director, Global Network Security, this role will be responsible for developing new Network Security services and enhancing existing services to meet the increasing needs for protecting our users, devices, networks, applications, and data. This person will work closely with all areas of the business and technology teams to ensure that our services are meeting the needs of markets, application teams, corporate departments, and other stakeholders.

This role will be part of the group within Global Technology that is responsible for our network security critical services, including firewall, IPS/IDS, Content Filtering, SASE, SSE, ZTNA, VPN, and DDoS. You will lead the strategic direction, technical evolution, and day-to-day operation of some of our Network Security products and platforms, including, but not limited to SSE, NGFW, or Proxy.

Work with partners globally to ensure that the services being built, deployed, and operated are crafted ensuring scalability and security. You will set the high-level strategy and direction for the services, set clear expectations, goals, and requirements for vendors that must be acquired as a measure of success.

This position will work closely with market technology, Risk Management teams, Global Infrastructure and Operations teams, application owners, key vendors, and others to ensure the accurate design and functioning of McDonald’s network security services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead design, engineering, and delivery activities for network security platforms, focusing on SSE.
  • Build and lead all aspects of platform vision, strategy and roadmap, including market research, backlog prioritization, and budgets.
  • Ensure availability and performance of the platform to meet business needs.
  • Analyze sophisticated network security issues, resolve causes, and identify corrective actions.
  • Act as platform owner for global and market teams for SSE platform strategy.
  • Assess global/market strategic and practical needs to ensure products meet business requirements.
  • Manage external vendors to ensure service delivery meets standards and business needs.
  • Lead technical evaluation and vendor selection for innovative platform development.
  • Define, document, and communicate network security guidelines and blueprints.
  • Lead transformation, standardization, and innovation efforts for global and regional network security requirements.
  • Lead, maintain, and improve platform capacity and performance.
  • Develop platform resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Partner with teams to deliver network self-healing automation for security events and incidents.
  • Mentor and empower a high-performing team of analysts and engineering professionals.
  • Extensive experience in designing, building, supporting, and managing network security products, including, but not limited to SSE, Firewalls, Proxy, ZTNA.
  • Knowledge and experience in owning and/or leading with one or more of the SSE technology in a complex environment.

  • Demonstrable experience designing, building, supporting, and leading core enterprise networks, including, but not limited to Routing, Switching, LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and MPLS.
  • Proven knowledge of developing network security standards and policies and redefining networks to enforce them.
  • Experience leading and delivering major programs using 3rd party vendors and internal resources.
  • Experience collaborating with business leaders, Technology Directors, and application owners.
  • Evaluation and selection of new technologies translating them into roadmaps and developing arguments.
  • Experienced delivering large-scale automation (e.g., Network as Code).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, Computer Science, Network, Cybersecurity, or relevant experience.
  • Experience in being responsible for the innovation and standardization of network security solutions across the business.
  • Familiarity with complex multinational companies and distributed business models.
  • Experienced leading a 24x7x365 team.
  • Professional certifications such as CCIE Security, PCNSE, CISM, CISSP, SSE Engineer, or similar.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment. Familiar with documentation processes and tools, JIRA and Confluence preferred.
  • Experienced with Dev/Ops and CI/CD pipeline tools and processes are helpful.
