Role: Network Security SME

Location: UK

Remote Role


🔹 Job Description:The Network Security SME – Firewalls will be focused on auditing and streamlining the current firewall rulebase and associated request processes across the organization. In parallel, the SME will contribute to market research and documentation in preparation for a 2026 Request for Proposal (RFP) related to Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) technologies. This expert role will partner with project management, cybersecurity leadership, and ServiceNow developers to enhance request workflows, ensure best practices in firewall governance, and contribute to the development of a compelling business case for future investments.

🔹 Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with enterprise network security, particularly firewall administration and policy management.
  • Proven experience conducting firewall rule audits in complex environments (multi-vendor preferred: Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based change processes and integration with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
  • Experience participating in RFI/RFP development and vendor assessments.
  • Exposure to SOAR solutions or security automation tools is a must.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, particularly in reviewing technical configurations and documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate across technical, business, and vendor teams.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

🔹Education:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Network Security, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP Security, PCNSE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
