Infrastructure Manager

About the Role

We're working with an established software company that develops, supplies and configures Electronic Document Management and Workflow solutions. With nearly 30 years of operation in Milton Keynes UK, approximately 40 staff and 400 customers mostly in the UK and USA, they're seeking a dedicated Technical Manager to take ownership of the Company IT infrastructure. This is a hybrid position requiring someone local who can be onsite when needed.

What You'll Do

As the Technical Manager reporting to the Technical Director, you will:

  • Manage, improve, and protect the company's IT infrastructure, both on-premise and cloud-based systems

  • Support the Professional Services team with best practice advice and design recommendations for Azure hosted customer platforms

  • Work closely with the Standards and Compliance manager to ensure ISO27001 compliance

  • Provide hands-on practical involvement in a role that includes line management of 1 engineer

  • Contribute to the continual improvement of information security matters

    What They're Looking For

    Essential skills:

  • 5+ years' experience in a senior IT role

  • People management, development, and performance skills

  • Creation and delivery of customer focused presentations and communications

  • Experience working with an IT Managed Service (outsourced) environment

  • High-level knowledge of business infrastructure management (OS updates, Patch Management, Virtualisation, Threat management, System Monitoring)

  • Experience with ITIL service and support processes

  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills for problem resolution and root cause analysis

  • Broad understanding of technology and technical concepts

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Azure products and services including AD/Entra, 365

  • Good reporting and documentation skills

    Desirable skills:

  • ITIL Foundation certification

  • Technical certification in one or more of the following:

    • Microsoft Azure Architecture

    • CISCO CCNA or Similar

    • Certified Info Systems Sec Professional (CISSP)

  • Microsoft Configuration Manager

  • Cloud based VOIP systems, especially Gamma Horizon

  • Datto backup / DR

  • SQL Server with some TSQL knowledge

  • Experience achieving CyberEssentials

  • Experience with ISO27001 compliance
