What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Information Security Manager, you’ll join a supportive, security-focused IT team committed to strengthening our security posture. We actively support professional development, encouraging certifications and hands-on experience that benefit both you and the Trust.Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there’ll be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there’s flexibility on where you’re based at other times. You’ll be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

As an Information Security Officer, you’ll help embed good security practices across the Trust, supporting teams to understand governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), manage risks and maintain accurate, secure information.You’ll help deliver security initiatives, working with IT, project teams, and suppliers to ensure our standards are met. Who we're looking for

We’re looking for someone with:a good understanding of information security principles, including GRC and frameworks like ISO 27001 or NISTexperience supporting risk assessments and audits, with the ability to identify and track security risks and controlsawareness of third-party security, including supporting due diligence and supplier assurancestrong communication skills and the confidence to engage with teams and support security awarenessfamiliarity with incident response, including assisting with investigations and follow-up actionsa proactive, detail-focused approach and a desire to learn in a supportive, evolving environment
