My client, a UK Top 50 firm are industry leading financial experts working at the cutting edge of digital accounting, financial planning, and tax advice in a wide range of personal and business areas. They believe in supporting the ambition, drive and variety of the South West economy through a combination of expert advice and excellent client support.

They serve clients across Somerset, Devon, and Wiltshire. Their team of over 350 highly trained and qualified staff caters to 5000+ clients, cementing their reputation as trusted financial advisors and accountants.

They are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to join their office in Yeovil - Somerset.

Responsibilities:

As a key part of my clients friendly Yeovil-based IT team, you’ll be the first point of contact for internal colleagues needing technical support, helping to resolve issues efficiently and professionally. You’ll provide day-to-day support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices and a range of specialist financial applications, keeping their people connected and their systems running smoothly.

You’ll also be involved in:
• Building and deploying Windows 11 machines using Microsoft Deployment Tools
• Installing and maintaining hardware, and supporting regular upgrades
• Managing user accounts and permissions in Active Directory and Office 365
• Maintaining protection systems including antivirus, anti-malware and email scanning tools

In addition, you’ll help maintain IT asset records and system documentation, creating user-friendly guides and knowledgebase articles along the way. You’ll support new starters and leavers, and work closely with the wider IT team on operational improvements and collaborative projects that make a real difference across the business.

Requirements:
You’ll need a solid working knowledge of:
• Microsoft 365 and Windows 11
• Active Directory & Entra ID
• Basic network troubleshooting

Not essential but desirable:
• An understanding of IT processes and cybersecurity principles
• Experience using ticketing systems
• Awareness of VLAN/WiFi networking
• An interest in emerging technologies and how they can drive business efficiency
