This business is undergoing a significant technology transformation and is seeking a Data Security Engineer to collaborate with data teams to ensure the security of all customer data. As data engineering becomes central to understanding the customer journey, the successful Data Security Engineer will work closely with leadership in both Cybersecurity and Data teams. This transformation programme is estimated to last 3-5 years, offering great technical exposure and rapid career progression.

Duties and Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of comprehensive data security strategies, policies, and procedures.
Collaborate with the Enterprise Security Architect to design and deploy security architectures for data protection, including encryption, access controls, and data masking.
Manage data encryption solutions to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive data.
Work with the Security Team to develop and implement encryption key management processes and systems.
Ensure security across the Data & Analytics technology stack, including Oracle tools, Snowflake, Postgres, and various AWS Services (SageMaker, Lambda, Step Functions, DMS, S3, etc.) in the AWS Cloud.

The ideal

Data Security Engineer

will have:
Experience in a similar role, with leadership qualities and relevant knowledge.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity-focused role, primarily in data security.
Strong knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST, GDPR).
Familiarity with cloud security principles and experience working with platforms such as AWS and Snowflake.
A solid understanding of data science principles and practices.
Experience or interest in security-focused AI tooling within data science is a plus.
