The Role:
Drives/supports the company to improve the cyber security of systems and information throughout the Air organisation by providing support in delivering and operating the Air Sector cyber security services within the DTD&I function, namely, providing operational support to cyber assurance during the feasibility, concept, design and post implementation stages for new applications and systems, required to allow the business to meet its strategic and tactical goals.
Supports activities to improve the knowledge, management and mitigation of cyber risk for the Air organization in delivery of the assurance activities.
Works under general direction within a clear framework of accountability. Exercises substantial personal responsibility and autonomy. Uses substantial discretion in identifying and responding to complex issues and assignments as they relate to the deliverable/scope of work. Escalates when issues fall outside their framework of accountability.
Be responsible for coordinating and scheduling reviews throughout the design acceptance phases described above, ensuring documentation is correct and recorded in accordance with the process.
Assist in the production and maintenance of performance measures and KPIs for the cyber assurance service.
Assist in the definition, documentation and successful completion of the assurance process.
Interacts with and influences colleagues. Oversees others and makes decisions which impact routine work assigned to individuals or stages of projects. Has working level contact with customers, suppliers and partners. Understands and collaborates on the analysis of user/customer needs and represents this in their work.
Investigates, defines and resolves complex issues. Applies, facilitates and develops creative thinking concepts or finds innovative ways to approach tasks.

Main Responsibilities:
Supports the monitoring of compliance with agreed cyber security policies and the assessment and management of relevant risks by assessing, validating and reporting of potential cyber risks/threats to Air digital capabilities based on the threat landscape and control maturity that they are tasked with to assure.
Coordinates progress of Air Cyber Design Assurance requests throughout the process using Jira to record documented evidence and approval decisions.
Conducts initial assessments of assurance requests and conducts pre-triage activity, supporting Technical Design Authorities (TDA) or IM&T Project Managers in the completion of Concept of Operations (ConOps), Security Operating Procedures (SyOPs) and Cyber Security Assurance Questionnaires (CSAQ) in preparation for initial Air Cyber triage.
Supports the designing of IT systems to meet security requirements, balancing this with functional requirements in accordance with corporate standards.
Ensure completeness of documentation and recording of documentation throughout the process, including but not limited to on, recording documentation, rejections, amendments and approvals throughout the process to support reviews and audits.
Coordinates and schedules stakeholder reviews at the appropriate junctures of the assurance process.
Supports wider Air Cyber team in reviewing and approving proposals at each stage of the process.
Supports in the monitoring, evaluation and enhancement of Air Cyber Design Assurance Service through the development and maintenance of reporting metrics and KPIs.
Supports the Cyber Team’s promotion of design assurance across the business and any future process development.
Supports the Cyber Team in planning, co-ordination and implementation of other services as requested.
Supports aligning Air Cyber strategies and projects with current Air Cyber strategy(ies) policies, standards and practices.

Person Specification:
You will have the following skills or proven experience:
Knowledge:

A broad understanding of the Air Sector business environment.
Experience of working in an IT Function.
An understanding of emerging cyber requirements and industry best practices.
Skills:

A foundation level of experience in delivering IT objectives and projects.
Experience of Programme & Project management in relevant fields.
Experience with budget management
Experience of collaborating for success with key business stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Relevant vocational qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience of working in a similar role or environment.
