Cloud and Security Engineer

Salary range:£55-65,000 pa

Location:Hybrid (2 days per week in London office)

Join a respected UK charity as aCloud and Security Engineer.This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive engineer to join a small team, take ownership and build out brand new AWS (and maintain a small amount of Azure) platforms while supporting a cloud-first strategy.


About the Role

Working with the Cloud and Security Lead, you’ll contribute to the secure deployment of services and infrastructure, applying best practices in cloud engineering, security, automation, and compliance. You'll support a hybrid environment (cloud and some on-prem) and play a key role in optimising infrastructure and maintaining robust security operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Help design and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
  • Implement security policies and respond to security events.
  • Use Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and scripting to automate deployments.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and secure service delivery.
  • Support incident response, threat modelling, and documentation.


What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years commercial experience in a Cloud / Security Engineer role, working with AWS or Azure.
  • Strong skills in scripting (Bash, PowerShell), Git, and infrastructure automation.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Windows systems, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security tools.
  • Knowledge of networking, DevSecOps practices, and compliance standards like GDPR or PCI DSS.
