Systems Engineer - Defence Technology

Location: South of England, Hampshire (exact location shared at screening stage)
Working Pattern: Fully On-Site, 37 hours per week
Security Requirement:Sole UK Nationals Only - must be eligible for high-level national security vetting

We are looking for aSystems Engineer to join a specialist engineering team working across airborne and acoustic defence systems. This is an opportunity to work in a highly innovative environment, designing and developing advanced solutions that make a real-world impact.

The Role

As a Systems Engineer, you will contribute to a range of research, development, test and evaluation activities across multi-disciplinary science and engineering projects. You'll support the development of airborne anti-submarine warfare systems, working closely with technical teams and customers to deliver high-integrity, mission-critical capability.

Day-to-day, you'll be part of a collaborative engineering team designing, testing and refining complex systems that push the boundaries of innovation.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Applying systems or software engineering lifecycle principles to challenging defence problems
  • Using rapid-prototyping to influence and validate system design
  • Collaborating with a dynamic engineering team while taking ownership of individual tasks
  • Supporting delivery of acoustic systems requiring sensor and aircraft simulation using high-fidelity test signals
  • Contributing hands-on technical expertise to deliver advanced, mission-winning solutions
Essential Experience
  • Understanding of the Systems and/or Software Engineering lifecycle
  • Previous experience working within a Systems Engineering environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team
Essential Qualifications
  • Degree in Physics, Maths, Oceanography, Electronics, or a relevant engineering discipline
    (Candidates with equivalent technical experience are also encouraged to apply.)
