About this role

JET's Information Security organisation protects a technology-led, cloud-native platform serving millions of customers across multiple markets. JET's building security into the foundations of how we design, engineer, and operate our cloud-native platforms at scale, across our technology organisation. As Senior Technical Manager for Security Architecture & Engineering, you'll unite the strategic vision of Security Architecture with the hands-on execution of Security Engineering and Data Security leading a team of Security Architects, Security Engineers, and Data Security specialists. Your mandate is to define the technical north star for secure-by-design delivery, champion shift-left principles, and ensure comprehensive data protection is engineered into JET's platforms by default.

These are some of the key components to the position:

Define and maintain JET's enterprise security architecture — leading the creation of reusable Golden Path design patterns that align with engineering standards and reduce friction for development teams across JET.

Lead the Security Engineering function to build, test, and implement innovative security solutions fostering a culture of technical experimentation to continuously improve automation and infrastructure hardening against emerging threats.

Own the Data Security strategy across structured and unstructured data ensuring robust engineered controls protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data at rest, in transit, and in use across JET's platforms.

Direct, mentor, and grow a team of Security Architects, Security Engineers, and Data Security Engineers managing resource allocation with a strong focus on proactive NIST CSF PROTECT and IDENTIFY capabilities.

Drive adoption of AI-aware security architecture patterns ensuring Golden Paths and engineering standards account for LLM integration risks, agentic workflows, and the secure use of MCP-connected systems across JET's development estate.

Act as a trusted partner to Engineering Excellence, IT, and Product leadership ranslating architectural risk, engineering vulnerabilities, and data security trade-offs into clear business language for stakeholders.

What will you bring to the team?

Proven track record leading a combined Security Architecture and Engineering domain within a large-scale, cloud-native organisation with clear evidence of delivering shift-left security at programme scale across multiple engineering teams.

Deep technical expertise spanning enterprise security architecture, cloud security (AWS/GCP), secure SDLC, infrastructure hardening, and data protection with the ability to set standards that engineers can implement without unnecessary friction.

Demonstrated experience leading broad technical teams including Architects, Engineers, and domain specialists with a track record of building capability, managing performance, and developing future leaders.

Strong working knowledge of AI/ML security risks at the architecture and engineering layer including secure LLM integration patterns, prompt injection controls, agentic workflow security, and data exposure risks in AI pipelines.

Strategic and pragmatic decision-maker who balances architectural rigour with business velocity able to make high-stakes technical trade-offs with incomplete information and communicate them credibly to senior leadership.

Collaborative and influential by default a facilitatory leader who builds trust with Engineering, Product, and IT partners and drives security adoption through enablement rather than enforcement.

Where to Advertise Cyber Security Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise cyber security jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, communities and channels that reach offensive, defensive and GRC security talent. The candidate pool is small, heavily vetted and in high demand across government, financial services, critical national infrastructure and the private sector simultaneously. Many of the strongest candidates hold active security clearances, are not actively job-searching through general platforms, and move primarily through specialist networks and trusted referrals. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that security professionals expect. Specialist platforms, government-affiliated channels and cleared candidate networks each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by CybersecurityJobs.tech, covers where to advertise cyber security roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

Cyber Security Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

Cyber Security Jobs UK 2026: roles, salaries and the threat intelligence, cloud security and zero-trust hiring trends shaping UK cyber careers. Cyber security is one of the few sectors where demand for talent has never once dipped. Every major technological shift of the past decade — cloud migration, remote working, AI adoption, the proliferation of connected devices — has expanded the attack surface that security professionals are expected to defend. And every expansion of that attack surface has generated more jobs. But the cyber security jobs market of 2026 is not simply a larger version of what it was three years ago. It is a structurally different market. The threats have evolved, the technologies used to combat them have changed, the regulatory environment has tightened considerably, and the roles being created reflect all of that. A job seeker who understands only the cyber security landscape of 2023 is already working with an outdated map. The candidates who will thrive over the next three years are those who understand where the sector is heading — which specialisms are attracting the most investment, which technologies are reshaping defensive and offensive security practice, and how the definition of a cyber security professional is broadening well beyond the traditional image of a network defender in a SOC. This article breaks down what the UK cyber security jobs market is likely to look like through to 2028 — covering the titles emerging right now, the technologies driving employer demand, the skills that will matter most, and how to position your career ahead of the curve.
