I'm currently working with a well-established organisation looking to appoint a Network Engineer to join their infrastructure team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.

This is a hands-on role supporting a range of network infrastructure and security initiatives across a multi-site environment. You'll work closely with infrastructure, networking and security teams to maintain, improve and secure the organisation's network estate.

The Role
  • Support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations.

  • Administer and troubleshoot routing, switching and firewall technologies.

  • Assist with network security improvements and firewall policy reviews.

  • Support network segmentation and access control initiatives.

  • Configure and maintain VPN connectivity and secure remote access solutions.

  • Investigate and resolve complex network incidents and performance issues.

  • Work closely with infrastructure and security teams on project delivery.

  • Produce and maintain network documentation, diagrams and technical procedures.

  • Support network monitoring, alerting and operational improvements.

Essential Experience
  • Previous experience as a Network Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or Network & Security Engineer.

  • Strong Cisco networking experience.

  • Good understanding of routing and switching technologies.

  • Experience supporting enterprise firewalls and network security controls.

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs and WAN technologies.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working within a multi-site or enterprise environment.

Desirable Experience
  • Cisco Firepower, FTD or FMC.

  • Cisco ISE.

  • Palo Alto, Fortinet or Check Point firewalls.

  • Network segmentation projects.

  • IPS/IDS technologies.

  • CCNA or CCNP certification.

  • Experience within large enterprise environments.
