Senior Cyber Security Analyst

The Role:

As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a key role in strengthening our security posture during a critical period of transformation. Reporting to the Group Head of Cyber Resilience and Security, you will support the business in improving cyber hygiene, managing vulnerabilities, and enhancing incident detection and response.

You will also mentor junior team members, guide the implementation of security best practices, and drive the effective use of our security tooling. This role requires a proactive and analytical professional who can confidently navigate a fast-evolving threat landscape while helping shape the future of cyber resilience at Sureserve.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support vulnerability and patch management, ensuring risks are identified, prioritised, and remediated promptly
• Mentor and support junior analysts, helping build internal cybersecurity capability
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, perform investigations, and implement preventative measures
• Align technical controls with CIS benchmarks, ISO 27001, and other best practices
• Support third-party risk assessments and provide security oversight for business change and IT projects
• Maximise the effectiveness of Microsoft security technologies (e.g., Defender, Intune, Group Policies) to enhance endpoint and identity protection
• Promote cyber awareness across the organisation, fostering a strong culture of security hygiene
• Contribute to the organisation’s security governance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in security controls, tooling, and processes

Essential Skills & Experience

• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, and defensive best practices
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability management, patch management, and incident response
• Proficiency in Microsoft security capabilities, including Intune, Group Policy, Defender, and Azure-based security tools
• In-depth knowledge of endpoint, network, and identity security
• Experience working in complex environments, ideally during digital transformation or systems change
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
• Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues is highly desirable
• Relevant certifications are beneficial, such as Security+, CySA+, SSCP, SC-200, Security Blue Team, or similar
