Summary

We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting management with securing our organization's infrastructure, systems, and data against cyber threats. As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the security team with designing, innovating, deploying, and maintaining security measures to safeguard our information assets.

We operate in a highly regulated global SaaS organization that has multiple certifications such as PCI-DSS, ISO/IEC 27001, SOC2 and other standards we adhere to. In addition, we have a large, federated customer base that we strive to embed improvements for.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems. This will require developing an effective working partnership with partner teams, to ensure security best practices are embedded into their processes, activities and projects

This role will cover a wide array of security areas across our SaaS environments, as well as corporate domains and will require a skilled and dynamic individual to spearhead efforts in fortifying both infrastructure and application platforms, against potential threats.

The responsibilities of the role include:
Advocating for infrastructure/ application Security and providing support for security projects.
Competence in reviewing new technologies, methodologies and integration opportunities.
Support in enhancing security detection and incident response efforts/ playbooks.
Monitoring, remediating, and reporting on security events.
Supporting team and activities required for maintaining Smart Communications standards and certification requirements.

What we're looking for:

Must have skills and experience:

At least 3 years of hands-on, proven industry experience in a similar role.
Good understanding of security principles, technologies, and best practices, including threat detection and mitigation strategies.
Good level of knowledge of cloud security: AWS and Azure.
Experience ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and availability throughout its lifecycle, including during transmission, storage, and processing.
Proactive in staying updated with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, take initiative, and think creatively, while also being collaborative and team-oriented with good communication skills.
Capable of taking responsibility and supporting management of projects through to completion.
Advantageous skills/ experience:

Bachelor/master's degree in computer science, Information Security, or related Security certification: CISSP, CISM etc.
Experience with security tools such as SecureWorks, Qualys, M365 Security, AWS Security Products.
You will have worked on a variety of challenging projects, with multiple security tools. Have a proven track record of successes.
Understanding of security compliance standards relevant to the SaaS industry, such as PCI, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC2, NIST.
An understanding of application security principals, best practices, OWASP/ related standards.
Knowledge of security frameworks & controls, hardening standards & security best practices.
An understanding of network protocols & practices, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems and WAFs.
