The Role: This role will be part of our Saab UK IT Teamsupporting our Public Safety Solutions (PSS) Business Unit. PSSdevelops advanced software applications and solutions for missioncritical control room operations including for Police, Fire &Rescue and Airports. Within PSS, the SecOps team is accountable for24x7 operations and security in customer managed-serviceenvironments.As a hands-on Security Engineer, you will bring adepth of experience in threat detection, response and vulnerabilitymanagement to the small team. In role, you will have the scope towork more broadly across all aspects of security, including:design, engineer and operate the security platforms; providesecurity support for multiple customer managed service deployments;work with customers to deliver security requirements; and gainexposure to hybrid-cloud and full-cloud environments. You will alsowork with engineers based in both the UK and Sweden to enhancesecurity within the SAFE command & control product.This is afully remote position with the option of working from the Hulloffice. Occasional travel will be required to our customer sites.Key responsibilities:Accountable for security in the managedservice environmentsDesign, implement and operate threat detectiontooling to proactively identify and respond to threatsDesign,implement and operate vulnerability scanning tools to assess,identify and respond to vulnerabilitiesEnsure proactive security isin place through automation, notifications and issuemanagement.Lead technical aspects of incident response, leveragingsecurity tools for analysis and containmentHands-on engineering andenhancement of the security platformContribute to procedures andbest practicesAdvise product engineering and customers relating tosecurity best practiceRemain current with security tooling andrecommend updates or new procurements as needed Experience andQualifications: Essential requirements3+ years/' experience withthe design and hands-on implementation of modern securityplatformsProduct specialist in at least one of:Endpoint Detection& Response (EDR), Elastic & TenableVulnerability scanningtoolingFortigate FirewallsRibbon SBC Demonstrable knowledge andexperience in multiple of the following areas:Identity & AccessManagementImplementation and management of security platforms likeSIEM/SOARDevelop and maintain automated processes for regularvulnerability assessmentsSecuring datacenter and clouddeploymentsLinux admin & scriptingWindows Server DatacenterCore & Defender AntivirusGrafana Highly attentive with theability to deal with changing priorities and context switching.Apositive attitude to innovation, change and transformation areessential characteristics to be successful in this role.Excellentcommunication skills - written and verbal.
