Security Consultant

As a Pre Sales-Cyber Security Consultant, you will work closely with Account Managers and Post Sales teams to build, influence and challenge a client’s cyber security strategy and services, leading to creating and delivering end-to-end solutions.

As a member of the Technical Pre-Sales function of Bechtle UK’s Business Solutions and Services division, you will be pivotal to the overall growth of Bechtle UK’s Security pillar. As a team, we are centred around understanding customer challenges and supporting the improvement of an organisations security posture to defend against the increasing threat landscape.

You will support pre-sales engagements through gaining an understanding of client technical requirements and ensure the solution and/or service meets expectations.

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver strategic whiteboarding sessions to develop and implement security strategies. Ensure a natural focus sits in protecting an organization's technology infrastructure and data from cyber-attacks.
  • Work closely with the sales team to understand client needs and objectives. Lead the process of designing, reviewing and implementing end-to-end solutions to meet requirements.
  • Build and deliver chargeable workshops to clients through strategic consultative engagement. An example of this would be strategy workshops, posture assessments and a gap analysis.
  • Provide support and expertise during cyber incidents and contribute to the development of cyber incident management and response plans.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation to support with the improvement of a customer’s security estate, acting as a go-to for general advice and guidance.
  • Deliver technical training and enablement sessions to empower the wider business with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively position and sell Bechtle Security offerings.
  • Engage, alongside Account Managers, with clients to address technical challenges, provide solution recommendations, and overcome obstacles. Build strong relationships based on trust, credibility, and expertise, naturally focused on Bechtle’s key enterprise accounts.
  • Maintain multiple vendor certifications against Bechtle Security portfolio, especially within the specialism of cyber security.
  • Proactively collaborate with wider Pre-Sales where a link into cyber security is required (e.g. Cloud, Networking teams). Build relationships with Sales, Product Managers, Engineers, and Service Desk, to drive all round business success in Security.
  • Actively feedback into the business for ways to improve Bechtle’s delivery of cyber security to customers, play a key role in supporting the wider security strategy.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on cybersecurity and the current threat landscape, you will keep up to date with trends and innovations in the security industry.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Pre-Sales or similar role within an MSP/Reseller organisation.
  • Previous experience being part of or working with incident response teams would be beneficial.
  • Good understanding of incident response stages and handling preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience using endpoint detection and threat management products.
  • Good knowledge and awareness of global Information Security Standards including ISO27002, CIS, NCSE CAF, NIST CSF.
  • A strong understanding of SOC processes and procedures.
  • Good understanding of the Microsoft stack.
  • Advisor in advanced cybersecurity services including SSE, SASE, SIEM, MDR/EDR.
  • Experience working with security frameworks and/or market leading solutions (preferred).
  • Experience in recommending and designing solutions to meet compliance guidelines.
  • Industry recognised certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA, CCNA (advantageous).
  • Experience with the following vendors is advantageous – Microsoft, Crowdstrike, Sophos, SentinelOne, ESET, Fortinet, Palo Alto and Zscaler.
