Job description

Job Title: Temporary School IT Manager
Location: Preston, PR5
Contract Type: Temporary - Initial 2-Month Contract (with potential extension)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Start Date: ASAP- must go through compliance checks
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive School IT Manager to cover staff sickness on a temporary basis for an initial period of 2 months, with the potential for extension. The successful candidate will oversee the school's IT operations, manage a project to upgrade machines across the site, implement essential updates, and support the deployment of Cyber Security policies.
Key Responsibilities:

Project manage and deliver the upgrade of IT equipment across the school site.
Support and implement regular software and system updates.
Oversee the deployment and enforcement of cybersecurity measures and policies.
Provide day-to-day IT support for staff and students, ensuring minimal disruption to teaching and learning.
Maintain and manage the school's IT infrastructure, including networks, devices, and systems.
Work with external IT providers or contractors as necessary.
Maintain documentation of IT systems, changes, and protocols.
Requirements:

Proven experience in School IT support/management or IT Manager roles.
Strong technical knowledge of Windows environments, networks, and hardware maintenance.
Experience with project management in IT contexts, particularly within an educational setting.
Familiarity with school safeguarding policies and the handling of sensitive data.
Knowledge of cyber security best practices and implementation.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Subject to an enhanced DBs check- applicants must pay for this themselves.
Relevant IT certifications
Desirable:

Previous experience working in a primary or secondary school environment.

You must be willing to attend a registration interview.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date
