Compliance Manager – Leading Law Firm, Manchester


RedLaw is delighted to be partnering with a forward-thinking and highly regarded law firm, currently seeking a Compliance Manager to join their expanding Risk & Compliance team in Manchester. This is a newly created position, offering a fantastic opportunity to shape and influence compliance operations during an exciting phase of growth.


Reporting to the Head of Risk, this pivotal role focuses heavily on AML and is ideal for a proactive compliance professional seeking a step up. You'll play a key role in ensuring regulatory standards are met while helping to develop and embed a strong risk culture across the firm.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Risk, COLP, and MLRO in managing regulatory and compliance matters, with a strong emphasis on AML.
  • Serve as the go-to advisor for internal stakeholders on a wide range of compliance topics, including SRA Code of Conduct, AML, sanctions, and conflict of interest matters.
  • Collaborate with the General Counsel to maintain and enhance client engagement terms and third-party advisor documentation.
  • Act as a firm-wide point of contact for resolving compliance-related queries.
  • Conduct in-depth regulatory research to support business needs.
  • Assist in the continuous development and improvement of compliance policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Apply your technical expertise across key areas, ensuring best practices and regulatory requirements are consistently met.


Requirements:

  • At least 4 years' experience in a compliance role within law firm, with significant focus on AML.
  • Prior experience in managing or supervising others.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive, proactive, and resilient mindset with a high level of personal drive.
