Our client is a respected leader in their field and are now looking for an experienced Building Surveyor with a strong background in day-to-day repairs, compliance and asset management to join their Property Services team.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead on the delivery of all statutory and regulatory building compliance across their property portfolio (e.g. fire safety, gas safety, electrical, water hygiene, asbestos).
  • Carry out condition surveys, pre, during and post, compliance audits, voids specifications and risk assessments to identify maintenance needs and capital investment priorities
  • Manage and monitor planned and cyclical maintenance programmes, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and compliance standards.
  • Prepare and oversee specifications for works, manage contracts, and ensure high-quality, cost-effective delivery from external contractors.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to internal teams, residents, and senior leadership on building compliance and health & safety matters.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all property-related documentation meets legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with colleagues in across all departments to ensure a joined-up approach to resident safety and property care.
    Skills and Experience
  • Ability to prepare, interpret and scrutinise data and specifications schedules of work using bespoke or National/published Schedules of Rates/Works.
  • Ability to operate with commercial acumen
  • Must be a qualified Building Surveyor with relevant professional credentials (e.g. RICS, CIOB, or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of housing-related compliance and building safety regulations, including but not limited to, HHSRS, CDM 2015, Fire Safety Act, Building Safety Act.
  • Experience working within the housing, supported housing, or social housing sectors advantageous but not essential.
  • Confident in managing multiple projects, budgets, and contractors while maintaining high compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — able to translate technical detail for non-technical colleagues.
  • Proficient use of IT Systems including Microsoft office suite with Intermediate Excel skills
