BASIC SALARY: Up to £68,000 (including car allowance) dependant on your relevant experience

· KPI Bonus, circa £6000-£9000 per annum

JOB DESCRIPTION: Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager - Chemical Manufacturing, COMAH, DSEAR, Lean
 
As our new Production Manager, you will face plenty of operational challenges leading our production department at our COMAH site in Derbyshire.
 
Your team will be around 25 Production Operators (indirect), your direct reports will be Production Planners and your Production Supervisors / Team Leaders. The Production Operators are a combination of permanent and agency staff.
 
Your team will vary in their experience and longevity with us. One of your first challenges will be to harmonise the production team who will look to you for strong leadership.
 
You will report directly into the Plant Manager and will have full autonomy for all production related areas including production planning, chemical manufacturing and product quality.
 
You will ensure a safe working environment for everyone and champion lean manufacturing.
 
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager - Chemical Manufacturing, COMAH, DSEAR, Lean
 
· Lead your production team within the production facility - this will include machine operators, supervisors, team leaders and a production planner
· Achieve operational KPI's relating to production, safety, quality and stock levels
· Develop a harmonised empowered team who can collaborate to achieve their own personal goals
· Drive Health & Safety including MAPP
· Ensure our site adheres to the relevant standards for COMAH and IPPC directives
· Drive Lean manufacturing and process improvements
 
YOUR BACKGROUND: Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager - Chemical Manufacturing, COMAH, DSEAR, Lean, process
 
You will:
· Have managed a chemical production facility before in a suitable similar role which includes production planning under your remit - ideally it will have been a higher tier COMAH site
· Understand chemical processing machinery, equipment and their associated systems
· Be a strong leader and able to demonstrate where you have developed your production team and department
· Have a strong understanding of safety - you will likely hold an IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
· Be able to show where you have championed lean manufacturing
 
THE COMPANY:
 
We are a COMAH site, part of a multi-billion turnover group specialising in the manufacturing of process chemicals for the Semiconductor Industry. The main product produced at this site is sulphuric acid.
 
It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets and worked with the following products and/or services:  Production Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager - COMAH, IPPC, chemical, pharmaceutical, plant, MAPP, DSEAR, Chemical, IOSH, NEBOSH, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations.
