OT Cyber Security Engineer

Location – Little Barford/Great Yarmouth

Contract Type – Permanent

Working Hours – Full time

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated OT cyber security engineer to join our team at RWE, a leading power generation company. This position will focus on securing OT systems and infrastructure to ensure the safe, reliable and secure operations of our power station. You will be responsible for protecting critical assets from cyber threats, implementing security best practices and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

About the role

  • Implementation of the OT Security Strategy within RWE Generation focused on the power plants, delivering security improvements across sites.
  • Support power station sites in the operation of the ISMS (risk analyses, audits, selection and monitoring of measures, effectiveness checks, etc.)
  • Convert security requirements into processes, technical documentation and work instructions.
  • Conducting site cyber risk assessments and engagement in the site modification process to ensure secure design of new projects.
  • Coordinate and support solving OT security incidents and vulnerabilities with central teams.
  • Advising and supporting the plant management team in ISMS and OT security matters.
  • Maintaining site system security through vulnerability reviews, patching and life cycle management.
  • Organise site staff training of the ISMS and deliver routine training exercises.

Job Requirements and Experience

  • Completed university or technical college studies in computer science, mathematics, engineering, natural sciences or comparable education.
  • Very good process safety and safe systems of work understanding.
  • Experience in planning and leading projects.
  • Knowledge on one or more of the following control systems T3000, 800xA, Foxboro, Ovation, Speedtronic would be an advantage.
  • High level of professional competence as the basis for a convincing and confident appearance with very good communication skills.
  • Flexibility, resilience and willingness to travel.
  • Relevant certification, CISSP, Security + etc, would be desirable.

Advantageous, not essential

  • Pre-vetted at SC Level (Otherwise we would obtain this for you).
  • Additional languages (Dutch and/or German in particular).
  • Knowledge of power plant operations.
  • Knowledge of OT infrastructures and OT application architectures.

  • An expected starting salary from approximately £55,000 to £75,000 depending on experience and up to 15% annual bonus.
