Network Engineer - Central IT Infrastructure

Location:Primarily remote work, with occasional office-based days as needed. Some travel required for on-site troubleshooting or live deployments.

Salary:£55,000 to £60,000 depending on experience.

Position Overview:We are looking for a dedicated and innovative Network Engineer to join our dynamic Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in network and security principles and a passion for designing and maintaining scalable and robust cloud-managed enterprise-grade network architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee high-quality network designs and architectures
  • Lab, test, and deploy network changes, including firmware updates or new business or IT solutions
  • Work closely with internal IT teams, the wider business, and third-party suppliers
  • Create and maintain network documentation
  • Handle critical network incidents, identify issues or security risks, and resolve technical problems
  • Suggest and implement upgrades, staying informed on industry trends and technologies

What we're looking for:

We are looking for a candidate with substantial experience in network engineering and infrastructure environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is highly desirable
  • Qualification in Cisco Networking such as CCNA/CCNP or other similar Network Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer. Minimum of 3 years
  • Qualification in Microsoft Azure such as AZ-700 or other Public Cloud Platforms
  • Qualification in basic security principles such as CompTIA Security+
  • Methodical approach to troubleshooting
  • Delivers on promises, taking ownership and managing expectations realistically
  • Analytical thinker, with the ability to understand multiple information streams
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba, SDN & SD-WAN technologies, Microsoft Azure, Zscaler, or other Zero-Trust solutions
  • Experience with network design, implementation, and project management
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)
  • Experience with cybersecurity principles and toolsets
