Reporting into the Head of Infrastructure Operations, the Network and Security Engineer is key to supporting Telent transformational programmes and continual service improvement, providing design, implementation and support of business-critical systems across the Telent ICT estate. This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to be in our Warwick HQ 1-2 days per week, as well as ad-hoc travel on occasion.

What You'll Do:

  1. Design and implement security & networking solutions through to operational support, working across multi-supplier/multi-platform environments within the Telent group.
  2. Support the delivery of Security Architectures/Strategies as part of a broader Enterprise and IS/IT Architecture.
  3. Evaluate emerging technologies and deliver proof-of-value environments to support business needs.
  4. Produce, peer-review, and maintain high-level and low-level technical documentation and network schematics.
  5. Develop, implement, and maintain processes to ensure the continued security and efficiency of Telent networks.
  6. Identify and mitigate technology and service risks.
  7. Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rota (one week per month).

Who You Are:

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who have experience in network security, routing, and switching. If you have (or are working towards) a CCNP certification and a passion for technology, we encourage you to apply.

Key Requirements:

  1. CCNP Security or CCNP Routing & Switching.
  2. Experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Solutions.
  3. Strong expertise in implementing and supporting Cisco network and security technologies in enterprise environments.
  4. Awareness of current trends and developments in information technology.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. A full UK driving license and availability for on-call support one week per month.
