Job Title: IT Support Project Engineer
Location: Bolton
Contract: Temporary – Full Time – 37 hours per week Monday- Friday
Contract duration: 3 to 12 months ongoing
Hourly rate - £23.40 per hour + Holidays (25 + 8 Bank Holiday)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Support Project Engineer to join our team on a contract term ranging from 3 to 12 months ongoing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, managing IT projects, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of IT systems, troubleshooting skills, and project management capabilities. The primary focus of this position is to lead the transition from the current IT platform to a standalone platform.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
Manage and implement IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
Lead the transition from the current IT platform to a standalone platform.
Configure, install, and maintain IT infrastructure such as servers, workstations, and networking devices.
Collaborate with different teams to ensure seamless IT service delivery.
Monitor system performance and security, implementing necessary improvements.
Document IT support processes and maintain detailed records of IT assets and configurations.
Train end-users and provide guidance on IT best practices.
Liaise with vendors and service providers for procurement and maintenance of IT resources.
Stay updated with the latest IT trends and technologies to improve efficiency and security.

Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in IT support and project management.
Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
Experience with cloud services such as Google Cloud.
Proficiency in networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
Familiarity with IT service management frameworks
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified

Preferred Skills:
French Speaking would be advantageous however this isn’t essential.
Experience with virtualisation technologies.
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.
Experience in managing enterprise applications.

Work Environment:
On-site work but company has a Hybrid policy in place if requested.
May require occasional travel.
Availability for on-call support or after-hours maintenance when necessary.
