IT Infrastructure Engineer - Hybrid | Leicester, Nottingham or Remote (2-3 Days from Home)
📍 Location: Leicester, Nottingham, or Remote (2-3 days per week from home)
🕒 Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours/week (with occasional out-of-hours and weekend support)

Join a dynamic and fast-growing organisation at the forefront of delivering reliable, cloud-focused IT infrastructure solutions. We are looking for a skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer to lead the development, support, and optimisation of critical IT systems across our business.

This is a hands-on, strategic role with the opportunity to drive technological change, shape long-term infrastructure strategies, and ensure robust security and compliance across hybrid environments. You'll have the flexibility to work remotely 2 to 3 days per week, while collaborating with onsite teams in Leicester or Nottingham.

🔧 What You'll Be Doing

Lead on the development and deployment of new technologies to enhance business performance.

Manage and maintain IT hardware, software licensing, and system security.

Oversee server environments (on-premise and cloud-based) and ensure performance against business KPIs.

Develop and implement IT policies, processes, and strategies including ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials compliance.

Enhance reporting capabilities and system automation across core infrastructure.

Monitor vulnerabilities and implement effective security solutions.

Support the ongoing adoption and expansion of Microsoft 365, Intune, and Azure services.

Collaborate with stakeholders and third parties to escalate issues and develop infrastructure improvements.

🧠 What We're Looking For

A degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field.

Broad IT infrastructure experience including:

Microsoft 365 administration (Entra AD, Intune, Autopilot, SharePoint)

Windows Server (including Server 2022), Hyper-V, storage, IoT

Networking knowledge (VPNs, firewalls, switches, routing, monitoring)

Backup and recovery tools

SQL & replication

Cybersecurity technologies and compliance protocols

Cloud technologies - particularly Azure

☁️ Azure-Specific Experience Preferred

Azure Functions, Virtual Machines, App Services, and Azure SKUs

Azure Virtual Networks, NSGs, Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Azure VPN Gateway, Azure Front Door, ExpressRoute

Azure Security Centre, Azure Key Vault, Sentinel, SOAR, Blueprint, Policy, and role-based access control
