General Responsibilities

Responsible for detecting and preventing cyber threats to the company's computing environment. Identify weaknesses in software, hardware, and networks, and implement protective measures. Plan, upgrade, and monitor security controls to safeguard digital files and infrastructure. Lead responses to security breaches and viruses. Night and weekend hours as needed.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Develop plans to protect files against unauthorized access or modification and meet emergency data processing needs.
  2. Review and discuss security violations to prevent recurrence.
  3. Implement and upgrade security measures and controls.
  4. Establish protocols to protect information systems from unauthorized access or destruction.
  5. Maintain data security and monitor access.
  6. Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses, and security assessments.
  7. Conduct security audits and tests to ensure system integrity.

  1. Anticipate and reduce security alerts, incidents, and disasters.
  2. Collaborate with infrastructure team on network security, intrusion detection, and encryption.
  3. Analyze breaches to identify root causes.
  4. Recommend and install security tools and countermeasures.

  6. Train employees on security awareness and procedures.
  7. Coordinate security with outside vendors.

  2. Work on a rotating on-call schedule.

  4. Ensure secure handling and transmission of PHI/ePHI.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field required.

Experience

Minimum five (5) years in a security analyst role, including:

  • Penetration testing and vulnerability remediation
  • Anti-virus and anti-malware management
  • Networking, firewalls, IDS, IPS, security appliances
  • Windows and Linux OS
  • Network protocols and packet analysis
  • Scripting languages (C#, VB, Python, C, .NET)
  • Cloud computing

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Preferred certifications: CEH, ECSA, EC-Council Certified Security Analyst

  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
  • Reaching and finger dexterity for manipulating objects and keyboard use
