Fashion should be fast, fearless, and future-ready. Customers demand style at speed. This business, like many other successful fashion businesses, delivers a seamless shopping experience powered by up-to-date technology and - critically - a team that ensures a smooth, safe digital space.

We're working with a fashion retail business that is looking for an IT Director to lead their tech team and work closely with the rest of the senior leadership team.

The Role:

As IT Director, you'll lead all aspects of the technology strategy, infrastructure, and innovation. You'll ensure stores, websites, apps, and data systems perform at their very best - and crucially, you'll spot tomorrow's opportunities before they become yesterday's news.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thinks as commercially as they code - someone who knows technology is only as good as the value it delivers.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Set and execute a tech roadmap that underpins growth, profitability, and exceptional customer experience across all channels.
Digital Commerce Excellence: Oversee the development, security, and performance of online platforms, ensuring they stay slick, scalable, and customer-obsessed.
Operational Reliability: Ensure in-store and back-office systems run like clockwork - payment systems, EPOS, inventory management, and beyond.
Cybersecurity and Compliance: Protect the business and its customers with robust security policies, staying a step ahead of emerging threats and data regulations.
Data Mastery: Champion the smart use of customer, sales, and supply chain data to drive actionable insights, personalisation, and strategic advantage.
Team Leadership: Inspire, grow, and empower a high-performing IT team. Foster a culture of curiosity, agility, and innovation.
Supplier Management: Build strong relationships with external technology partners, negotiating contracts and ensuring outstanding service delivery.
Innovation and Future-Scanning: Keep an eye on what's next - from AI styling bots to blockchain supply chain tracking - and weave it into our thinking.

About You:

Proven experience leading IT strategy in a fast-paced retail (ideally fashion) environment.
Deep knowledge of e-commerce platforms, CRM systems, cloud architecture, EPOS systems, and digital security best practices.
A commercial brain with a technical heart.
Track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
Resilient, future-focused, and calm under pressure - you love the buzz of retail and the pace of fashion.

Our Client:

Because tech isn't an afterthought in this business - it's at the very heart of how they move faster, think bigger, and serve customers better. You'll have real influence and the chance to make a tangible impact every single day.

You'll work in a team of passionate, driven individuals aligned on goals and values, and feel challenged and developed in equal measure.

Quantum-Enhanced AI in Cyber Security: Guarding the Digital Frontier

The cyber security landscape has evolved dramatically over the past decade. Long gone are the days when businesses primarily worried about simplistic phishing or basic website defacements. Today’s threats include nation-state attacks, sophisticated ransomware, AI-generated phishing campaigns, and a wide array of stealthy intrusion methods. Organisations must defend vast digital ecosystems that include cloud infrastructure, IoT devices, and critical operational technology—any of which can become high-value targets for malicious actors. Amid these escalating challenges, a new technological wave is emerging: quantum computing. Although still in its infancy, quantum computing promises capabilities that could surpass even the most advanced classical supercomputers for specific tasks. Simultaneously, in the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI)—where data volumes and model complexity are exploding—quantum’s parallelism could significantly boost analysis, training, and decision-making. What unfolds when quantum computing and AI converge in the realm of cyber security? On one hand, quantum technologies could introduce stronger encryption and faster threat detection. On the other, adversaries armed with quantum power might break today’s cryptographic protocols or develop more potent attacks at unimaginable speeds. This article explores the phenomenon of quantum-enhanced AI for cyber security: the possibilities it unlocks, the challenges it poses, and the reasons it could reshape both defensive and offensive operations in the digital world.
