Get to Know Us

Headquartered in Minnesota, Entrust is an industry leader in identity-centric security solutions, serving over 150 countries with cutting-edge, scalable technologies. But our secret weapon? Our people. It’s the curiosity, dedication, and innovation that drive our success and help us anticipate the future.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our innovative Biometrics team, where you will lead the architectural design and full-stack development of cutting-edge digital identity verification solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of biometric authentication technology, from face matching and liveness detection to seamless user experience across web, iOS, and Android platforms. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to drive the evolution of our biometrics platform in an industry rapidly advancing toward quantum computing and zero-knowledge proof paradigms.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full-stack architectural design and implementation of biometric identity verification solutions spanning React web applications, Swift iOS SDKs, and Kotlin Android SDKs
  • Drive technical strategy and roadmap development for the Biometrics platform, ensuring alignment with emerging industry standards including NIST FRTE and FIDO Alliance requirements
  • Design and optimize Python-based AI/ML backend systems for biometric processing, with integration points across Ruby and Elixir microservices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement privacy-compliant solutions adhering to BIPA, CUBI, ETSI, and GDPR regulations
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams through complex technical challenges, code reviews, and architectural decisions
  • Partner with product management and engineering leadership to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Champion software security best practices including secure SDLC, cryptographic implementation, and code obfuscation techniques
  • Lead the evaluation and integration of emerging technologies such as quantum-resistant cryptography and zero-knowledge proof systems
  • Drive continuous improvement of development processes, deployment pipelines, and system reliability
  • Represent Entrust's technical capabilities in industry forums and contribute to open-source biometric standards

Your future short-term and major projects:

  • Grow adoption of Biometrics products, from face matching, liveness detection and authentication, all the way to how these are integrated from user experience to mobile development and backend processing
  • Work with Director of Engineering and your Staff Engineer+ peers to define path forward for how Biometrics technology will evolve in the context of our team, but also in the context of the Entrust ecosystem and, ultimately, our position in the Digital Identity industry landscape
  • Architect and implement quantum-resistant cryptographic protocols for biometric data protection and zero-knowledge proof integration
  • Contribute to design of unified SDK architecture that provides consistent developer experience across React, Swift, and Kotlin platforms
  • Drive the development of real-time biometric liveness detection capabilities with sub-second response times and 99.9% accuracy

Basic Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on full-stack engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in a senior or staff-level engineering role with demonstrated technical leadership
  • Expert-level proficiency in at least two of the following: Python (preferred), React/TypeScript (preferred), Swift/iOS development, Kotlin/Android development
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized deployment using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable distributed systems and microservices architectures
  • General understanding of modern AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and model deployment in production
  • Deep understanding of software security principles, cryptography, and privacy-by-design methodologies
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and modern DevOps practices
  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

Preferred Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in multi-threaded applications and high-performance computing environments
  • Experience with software security concepts (secure SDLC, cryptography, obfuscation, code signing, and security testing)
  • Experience with SaaS development and deployment at scale
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform or similar
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Sentry, NewRelic, Datadog, Splunk or similar
  • Experience in SSO, SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, and modern identity federation protocols
  • Experience developing a commercial/external software product with external API consumers
  • Previous work in biometrics, computer vision, or identity verification domains
  • Knowledge of privacy regulations (GDPR, BIPA, CCPA) and their technical implementation requirements
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, Elixir/Phoenix, or other backend frameworks beyond Python
  • Understanding of zero-knowledge proof systems and their practical applications
  • Experience with mobile app security, including certificate pinning, runtime application self-protection (RASP), and anti-tampering techniques
  • Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
  • Familiarity with quantum computing concepts and post-quantum cryptography

Where to Advertise Cyber Security Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising cyber security jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. The candidate pool is small, heavily vetted and in high demand across government, financial services, critical national infrastructure and the private sector simultaneously. Many of the strongest candidates hold active security clearances, are not actively job-searching through general platforms, and move primarily through specialist networks and trusted referrals. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that security professionals expect. Specialist platforms, government-affiliated channels and cleared candidate networks each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by CybersecurityJobs.tech, covers where to advertise cyber security roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
