Job Title: IAM Engineer/ Architect

Location: Sheffield, UK (3 days/week Onsite)

Duration: 6months+

500GBP/day Inside IR35

We’re redefining IDAM on a global scale and launching a transformational programme to bridge modern IDAM technology and solutions with big bank scale and complexity. The IDAM Transformation program is forecast to be 5 years plus with significant change to be designed, planned and implemented globally. The transformation encompasses all aspects of IDAM from Authentication through to elevated access and will cover human and non-human identities.

We’re looking for an experienced Solutions Specialist / Architect who has deep expertise in Identity Management and a successful track record of delivery in complex and global organisations. The role will report to the Global Head of IDAM Transformation, Strategy and Capability and be part of a dynamic and highly skilled team.

What you will be doing

  • Take ownership of elements of the IDAM Transformation program design and documentation, including HLD’s, LLD’s and Diagrams in both logical and UML/Sequence format

  • Manage aspects of IDAM transformation engagement in multiple HSBC Architectural and Technical forums from a technical and engineering perspective for the relevant part of IDAM transformation being designed and approved

  • You will be responsible for detailed designs for all relevant parts of the transformational programme of work for IDAM

  • You will need to understand the technology, solutions and business outcomes of the strategy and be able to convey these to stakeholders up to C level.

  • Be responsible for the successful delivery of relevant parts of IDAM transformation that you are architecting

  • The role requires effective communication across the workstreams and management of their inter-dependencies including oversight of any risks and issues arising.

  • Risk and Issue Management - proactively identifies and manages risks and issues against the architecture ensuring these are articulated in good time, levelled correctly and reported to the appropriate governance forum (LPM, QBR etc.).

    Required Experience

  • Deep understanding of Identity Management including Authentication, governance, access management and privileged access management

  • Successful track record of delivering IDAM successfully in large global organisations

  • C Level stakeholder engagement and management. The ability to communicate and influence at this level

    Functional Knowledge

  • Demonstrate knowledge of financial services, with a particular focus on the implications of IAM for HSBC’s three global businesses and supporting functions. Able to translate business needs into appropriate technology solutions.

  • Extensive experience in Architecture / Cybersecurity leadership roles within large scale, complex and international organisations.

  • Knowledge of the external environment and drivers - regulatory, political, competitor and market.

  • Experience of working within a complex matrix environment, globally across cultures.

  • Excellent people, communication and leadership skills and ability to establish effective collaborative relations with senior stakeholders across multiple functions.

  • Proven track record driving complex enterprise-wide programmes critical to business performance.

  • Experience in planning and managing significant expenditure in a complex organisation, with deep financial and commercial awareness
