We are hiring at Valsoft for an experienced and highly skilled Head of IT Security to join our growing team in the UK!

The role is required to pay special attention to the implementation and maintenance of Valsoft Information Security standards within all the businesses under your jurisdiction. Additionally, you’ll provide input to improvements in our global IT Security posture.We are seeking an experienced Head of IT Security to oversee security activities and manage cyber incidents. As a key member of the global security team, you will play a critical role in protecting the organization’s assets, ensuring compliance with regional regulations, and driving security initiatives aligned with global strategies.Valsoft acquires and grows software businesses that provide mission-critical solutions in niche vertical markets. With a global portfolio of companies operating across diverse industries, we recognize the increasing importance of highly robust cyber risk management, and the challenges involved in understanding a rapidly changing multi-national, multi-company environment. As we expand internationally, we are seeking a seasoned expert to ensure that our global operations are comprehensively protected against cyber risks.The successful candidate can be based anywhere in the UK, working in a remote work model!What your day will look like

:Support and guide the businesses in delivering quality and compliance in order to drive down information security riskDefending the businesses by building and implementing security process and procedure in line with Valsoft standards and designed to protect and respond to riskPromoting responsible behaviour by improving the culture internally to ensure all staff are protecting against possible security incidentsContinuous improvement by ensuring security updates are implemented as and when necessaryGuide Valsoft businesses in the pursuit of the ideals set out in global security frameworks such as ISO27001/SOC2/PCI-DSSEnsure that all businesses have appropriate levels of certification (PCI, GDPC, HIPAA, etc)Provide support and guidance across a wide variety of IT subjectsProviding expert advice and support when systems are being designed, upgraded or installed with the express aim of building security into the designOverseeing the development and enhancement of security systems and integrating new technologies with those existingWorking with business staff to develop plans and strategies to ensure client services can be enhanced, user effectiveness improved and innovation encouraged without compromising security effectivenessObtain and maintain appropriate levels of cyber security awareness through research, training and certifications (ISO27001, CISSP/CISM/CRISC, Cyber Essentials)About You

:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline is essentialA relevant certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) is essentialMinimum of 5+ years of experience in information technology, information security, cybersecurity, or IT risk management, with a focus on regional or global security operations is essentialStrong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, compliance requirements, and industry best practicesHands-on experience with security technologies, including SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management toolsAbility to lead incident response efforts and manage security incidents effectivelyFamiliarity with European cybersecurity regulations and data protection lawsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a global security teamExperience in a multinational corporation or highly regulated industryKnowledge of cloud security principles and best practicesExperience with identifying security risks within diverse systems and technology stacksFamiliarity with security automation and threat intelligence platformsFluent in English, both written and verbal, is essentialLegally authorized to work in the UKIf you are passionate about cybersecurity and want to make a significant impact in a global organization, we encourage you to apply for this role.
