Position: Finishing Operative

Location: South Yorkshire

Salary: £24k - £26k

Shifts: Double days (6am-1pm, 1:30pm-9pm)

Company: Commercial printers specializing in direct mail & general print

The Role:

  • To ensure the safe, smooth and efficient running of the Finishing Machines.

  • Reduction of machine down time for make-readies and breakdowns

  • Reduction of running times, while still ensuring quality, as measured against quoted targets

  • Reduction of waste in respect of reprints as monitored by Reprint Analysis

  • To understand every job and follow lists to ensure all work completed

  • To finish every job within allocated time scales and to a high quality, ensuring quality file copies separated and labelled on every job

  • To box and label every job and prepare it for dispatch

  • To implement maintenance tasks to plan

  • To be responsible for general cleanliness of the finishing department as a part of the daily routine

  • To liaise with the Finishing Supervisor to ensure work is completed as required.

  • To comply with the Company’s Information Security Management System at all times

  • To comply with all Health and Safety and Quality and Environmental Management System policies and procedures adopted by the Company at all times

  • To pro-actively participate in the development, operation and improvement of the Company’s Management Systems in relation to their external accreditations and legal obligations, for example, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and Health and Safety

  • To represent the Company at external functions in a proper and professional manner, whenever required, having an informed opinion from the Company’s perspective

  • To be well presented for work and conduct yourself in a professional and responsible manner at all times

  • To fulfil the Company’s requirements with regard to the Company’s Management Information Systems at all times

  • To follow all administrative procedures adopted by the Company at all times
