Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the architecture of solutions that operate within the agile, DevSecOps process. This role involves working closely with our product owners on the backlog and managing the CI/CD tool chain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Copado, with expertise in Compliance Hub and Robotic Testing. Experience in working within e-commerce at scale in a retail environment is essential. Additionally, the candidate will engage with suppliers to ensure seamless integration into DevOps processes and manage environments and DevSecOps integrations. The Tech Lead will ensure that the organisation's cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines are optimised, reliable, and secure.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design scalable, reliable, and secure DevSecOps solutions to support agile development and continuous delivery.
  • Collaborating with product owners to manage the backlog, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
  • Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Copado and Azure DevSecOps to ensure fast, reliable, and automated deployments. Ensure pipelines are efficient and resilient by implementing automated testing and monitoring.
  • Leading efforts to standardise CI/CD pipelines across teams, promoting consistency and efficiency.
  • Automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Chef. Monitoring and optimising infrastructure resources to ensure cost-effectiveness and performance.
  • Designing and implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure pipeline reliability and performance.
  • Utilising Copado to manage Salesforce deployments and ensure seamless integration with other enterprise systems.
  • Ensuring all solutions align with the organisation's architectural standards and best practices.
  • Integrating security tools and practices into the DevSecOps pipeline to ensure solutions meet cyber security requirements.
  • Conducting regular assessments of the DevSecOps environment to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.
  • Staying up to date with the latest DevSecOps tools, practices, and trends to ensure the organisation is leveraging the best technologies.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of DevOps engineers, offering guidance on best practices in CI/CD and automation. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, and IT, to optimise DevOps workflows and improve deployment velocity. Working closely with product and development teams to align DevOps practices with project goals.
  • Mentoring and training junior team members on DevSecOps architecture, automation, and development best practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a DevSecOps Engineer with a strong focus on agile and DevSecOps processes.
  • Knowledge of Copado for managing Salesforce.
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in the following: YAML, Python, Bash or PowerShell.
  • Experience with integrating security into CI/CD pipelines, such as SAST and SCA.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Exposure to configuration management and containerisation and orchestration tools.
  • Experience in working with e-commerce solutions at scale within a retail environment.
  • Knowledge of basic security practices for DevOps, such as secure coding standards, API security, and vulnerability scanning tools.

Working Location

Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
