What You’ll Do at Work

Embark on a thrilling journey as you install, commission, and maintain electronic systems designed to protect people, properties, and assets.

Gain in-depth knowledge about our cutting-edge systems, including fire detection, intrusion detection, CCTV, and access control solutions.

Hit the road in your own company van, visiting a variety of sites, from residential to commercial and retail locations.

Collaborate with a dedicated team, absorbing invaluable skills that will pave the way to becoming a qualified fire and security engineer.

Where You’ll Work

The apprentice will primarily cover the Midlands and surrounding area's. However, they may be required to travel to all area's of the country, depending on job requirements.

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Fire emergency & security systems technician

Your Training Plan

Enrol in a Level 3 Fire Emergency and Security Systems Technician qualification delivered by Banham Academy alongside fellow Johnson Controls apprentices

Engage in block release basis training and receive on-the-job guidance from experienced mentors and engineers

Requirements / Essential Qualifications

GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 5) essential.

GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 5) essential.

Full Driving Licence essential.

Let us know about any additional qualifications and relevant industry experience you possess, as we can tailor the apprenticeship to reflect your current skills.

Other Requirements

This exciting opportunity is field-based, meaning you will collaborate with our skilled engineers while traveling to our customers' sites daily. The role may require heavy lifting and working at heights.

After This Apprenticeship

Upon completing this apprenticeship, numerous internal opportunities within the company will be available to you. Many of our previous apprentices have advanced to lead engineers, managing their own teams and projects.

Salary- £14,920

What’s Next? 
 

Suitable candidates will be contacted via email to provide their evidence of required certifications. Once we receive the evidence of certification you will have a screening call with a recruiter to discuss the position. Afterward, you will be invited to an assessment centre, where you will participate in a practical assessment, meet the team, and have an interview. 

Candidates will receive a response regarding the outcome of their application. If successful, they can expect to begin the apprenticeship with Johnson Controls in the late summer of 2025.
