Following the continued success of Tetra Tech (Europe) in securing a variety of new and interesting projects across the government sector, we have an exciting opportunity for a Security Manager to join Tetra Tech. You will have experience of working in protective security for HMG assets, either client side or supporting HMG departments. To be successful, you'll need to understand a variety of threats across different domains and have a sound understanding of state-actor capabilities. You will need to be the translator between client security stakeholders and engineers and operational practitioners.

Working on a once in a generation project of national importance, you will be responsible for interpreting a complex Security Aspects Letter SAL and developing strategies to enable the project to build a secure supply chain.. You will be instrumental in mentoring the suppliers security management team, developing a mature security culture to protect the Client's assets. The core role will include managing a team of high-performing security controllers, overseeing the security aspects of operational delivery, and providing security assurance to the client and their end-users.

Your Role

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable security manager who can demonstrate an agile management skillset through innovative and diverse thinking:

  • Managing contractor and construction due diligence security teams
  • Compliance with the Security Aspects Letter (SAL) and security management plans for project delivery.
  • Complex stakeholder management between HMG security practitioners, Contractors and the Client.
  • Engagement with National Technical Authorities UKNACE, NPSA and NCSC
  • Managing and reporting project security reviews
  • Managing project security risk
  • Development of construction security policy
  • Supporting Senior Staff in delivering business objectives
  • Developing colleagues in our early careers programme

About You

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of working in a high security environments.
  • Conversant in state-actor threats and applying suitable mitigations and controls.
  • Experience of delivering security in complex environments
  • Conversant with the principles and best practice laid out by UK's leading Technical Authorities such as UK NACE, NPSA, NCSC
  • Experience of assessing security risks from first principles, across the physical, personnel and cyber domains.
  • Experience in delivery of security operations.
  • The ability to work collaborate and communicate effectively with clients, engineers and non-technical stakeholders to deliver results.
  • Strong understanding of security processes and compliance with Government Security policies.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written, including the ability to manage meetings with a variety of stakeholders of varying seniority.
  • A collaborative approach including managing large security teams and working closely with multi-stakeholder client teams
  • Good practical knowledge of Microsoft Software, including Excel, Project and Word
  • Professional and ethical in everything that you do

In addition, the candidate must:

  • Be a sole UK National
  • Be able to obtain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance

Desirable:

  • Hold relevant security qualifications or demonstrate significant experience and ability to achieve qualifications such as Chartered Security Professional (CSyP), member of the Register Security Engineering Specialists (RSES), ASIS Protective Security Professional (PSP).
