Security Consultant – Information Protection / DLP (Contract)

We’re recruiting an experienced Security Consultant to support a large-scale Information Protection and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) programme within a complex enterprise environment.

This is a hands-on contract role focused on designing, deploying and enhancing DLP and data classification controls across a Microsoft security estate, covering technology, process and people change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and information protection initiatives

  • Deploy and enhance data classification and labelling controls

  • Work across Microsoft security technologies including Purview, Azure Information Protection (AIP) and Defender for Cloud Apps

  • Support development of security governance, policies and standards

  • Contribute to DLP response and investigation processes where required

  • Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including HR and Legal

  • Drive delivery independently across multiple workstreams

    Required Experience

  • Proven experience delivering DLP / information protection programmes

  • Strong knowledge of data classification, data leakage prevention and governance

  • Hands-on experience within Microsoft security environments

  • Understanding of data privacy, compliance and legal considerations

  • Ability to lead delivery with minimal oversight

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

    Desirable

  • CISSP or CISM certification

  • Background in security consulting or enterprise transformation programmes
