Help us to make a world of difference

Urenco is a global leader in the production of low carbon energy. We work at the cutting edge of the transition to a sustainable, net zero world.

We are seeking a Lead Enterprise Architect to join us at our Paddington head office. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of robust, scalable, and modern architectures across Urenco’s digital estate, covering all IT systems and services.

This strategic and forward‑looking position requires strong expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks, particularly SABSA and the TOGAF ADM, to ensure our technology landscape aligns with business objectives, Urenco’s seven‑year technology strategy, and our security requirements.

You will work closely with Information Security and other key stakeholders to embed strong security practices into the architecture. You will also develop and maintain standards, patterns, and reference architectures that support consistent, innovative, and repeatable delivery across the organisation, while championing modernisation and more agile ways of working.

At Urenco we’re committed to giving you opportunities to be your best. If you feel you meet some, but not all of what we're looking for, please still apply. We believe in embracing the passion and potential of our people, and to achieve this we offer market leading training and development experiences. Along with the opportunity to be mentored and coached by some of the smartest minds in the industry.

What you’ll do:

Architectural Design and Management

Design and implement enterprise‑wide architecture solutions that are scalable, secure, cost‑effective, and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.

Ensure all solutions meet performance and security requirements while driving the modernisation of legacy systems and processes.

Apply recognised architecture frameworks to structure both business and technical architecture and promote innovative approaches that leverage modern technologies.

Collaboration with Information Security

Work closely with the Information Security department to embed strong security principles into all architectural designs.

Contribute to the development of security standards and reference architectures that align with Urenco’s cybersecurity policies and frameworks.

Ensure all solutions meet or exceed security expectations, mitigate risk, and support compliance across all IT services.

Technical Leadership

Support the Head of Digital Enterprise Architecture by championing the adoption of architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across the organisation. Develop and maintain architectural roadmaps and future‑state visions aligned with Urenco’s Group IT seven‑year Technology Strategy. Provide expert guidance and oversight throughout the development and deployment of architecture solutions, ensuring they remain aligned with business goals and modern architectural practices. Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement and promote modern ways of working such as Agile and DevOps.

Stakeholder Management

Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across Group IT, Information Security, and business units at all levels. Ensure architectural decisions align with business priorities and risk considerations. Act as a trusted advisor on technology strategy, security, and compliance, communicating effectively with both technical and executive stakeholders. Influence and support the adoption of modern technologies and new ways of working, ensuring alignment with business needs and security requirements.

What do you need to thrive in this role?

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Professional certifications in TOGAF and/or SABSA, or active progress toward achieving these or equivalent architecture framework certifications.

A minimum of seven years’ experience in enterprise architecture, with strong capability in integrating security principles and aligning technology with business objectives.

Experience working in highly regulated sectors such as energy, finance, or other critical infrastructure environments.

A proven background in stakeholder management and technical leadership within large enterprise settings.

A demonstrable track record of driving technology modernisation or digital transformation initiatives across complex IT landscapes.

Willingness and eligibility to obtain UK Developed Vetting (DV)security clearance due to the sensitivity of the role.

What can you expect from us?

More than just a job, we offer a future. More than just a place to work, we provide an opportunity to prosper. As an employee of Urenco you will receive:

Annual leave of 27 days per annum.

A generous bonus scheme based on achievement of personal and company objectives.

A diverse range of family friendly policies.

A defined contribution pension scheme: contributions start at 4% (employee) and 10% (employer).

Hybrid Working Pattern: up to two days working remotely on average per week. Flexible start and finish times, with a 1.30pm finish on Fridays.

Flexible benefits package, including life assurance and income protection. In addition, you’ll have an opportunity to purchase additional benefits that suit your lifestyle.

Paid time off for volunteering.

The opportunity to join our private medical and dental insurance schemes.

Education and training; we take pride in helping people learn and develop by supporting, accelerating and directing your learning.

As well as the completion of mandatory health and safety courses, training packages will be offered to meet your specific needs.

Security vetting

Due to the nature of the industry that Urenco operates in, all personnel regardless of employment status working for Urenco are required to obtain security clearance at the level required for their role. Security clearances are assessed in accordance with regulations and official guidance issued by the relevant competent authorities for national security vetting. In certain circumstances, additional enhanced security clearance considerations apply to roles within Urenco owing to the particular activities that the Urenco Group undertakes in relation to uranium enrichment. Successful candidates will need to satisfy security requirements, and all offers of appointment are made subject to the successful approval of all checks initiated.

Creating a diverse and inclusive workforce

As a truly global company with a presence in the UK, USA, Germany, and the Netherlands, we know that our individual differences make us stronger. Putting people at the heart of our business, we strive to create an open and inclusive workplace that allows every voice to be heard and diversity to thrive. Where to Advertise Cyber Security Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising cyber security jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. The candidate pool is small, heavily vetted and in high demand across government, financial services, critical national infrastructure and the private sector simultaneously. Many of the strongest candidates hold active security clearances, are not actively job-searching through general platforms, and move primarily through specialist networks and trusted referrals. Specialist platforms, government-affiliated channels and cleared candidate networks each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by CybersecurityJobs.tech, covers where to advertise cyber security roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
