The Opportunity

We are seeking an experiencedGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP) Engineer to support an urgent government discovery project focused on the design and development of GCP landing zones.

This is an opportunity to contribute to an early-stage cloud project within a public sector environment, helping establish the foundations for secure, scalable and well-governed cloud infrastructure.

The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on GCP engineering expertise and the ability to contribute to technical discovery, cloud architecture and landing zone development.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the discovery phase of a government cloud transformation project.
• Design and build GCP landing zones in line with security and governance requirements.
• Contribute to cloud infrastructure design, configuration and implementation.
• Apply best practices across cloud security, networking, identity and access management.
• Help establish appropriate infrastructure standards and cloud foundations.
• Work collaboratively with architects, engineers and wider project stakeholders.
• Document technical designs, decisions and recommendations to inform future delivery.

Essential Experience

• Strong hands-on experience withGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proven experience designing or implementing GCP landing zones.
• Understanding of cloud security, governance and infrastructure best practices.
• Experience with GCP networking, IAM and infrastructure configuration.
• Ability to contribute to technical discovery and define practical engineering solutions.
• Active UK Security Check (SC) clearance is essential.

• Rate: £500
• Contract: Initial 4 months.
• IR35: Outside IR35.
• Clearance: Active SC clearance required.
• Project: Government cloud discovery and GCP landing zone development.
