Data Governance Lead
Telford / Shropshire | Permanent | £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits

A well-established and growing organisation is seeking a Data Governance Lead to take ownership of data governance, information management and compliance practices across the business.

This is an opportunity to shape and improve how data is managed, stored, protected and utilised, working closely with stakeholders across multiple departments to establish best practice and ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

The Role Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the organisation's data governance framework, ensuring information is accurate, secure, accessible and managed in line with business and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and embedding data governance policies, standards and controls
  • Promoting best practice around information and email storage
  • Supporting GDPR, information security and data compliance initiatives
  • Managing data quality, retention and lifecycle processes
  • Working with internal stakeholders to improve governance and reduce risk
  • Supporting ISO27001, Cyber Essentials and wider compliance activities
  • Providing guidance and training to users on data management best practice
  • Ensuring contractual and regulatory data obligations are met
About You We are keen to speak with candidates who have experience in areas such as:

You will ideally have:
  • Experience implementing or maintaining data governance frameworks
  • Knowledge of GDPR and information management best practices
  • Understanding of data security, retention and compliance controls
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience creating policies, standards and procedures
