Role: 3rd Line Technical Lead

Location: Hereford, Herefordshire (on-site)

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum + benefits

Our client, a leading IT support and managed services provider, is recruiting a 3rd Line Technical Lead to take on a senior position within the organisation. This role will play a key part in the company’s continued growth and expansion, with heavy involvement in the long-term technical and service strategy.

The organisation delivers managed IT support, Microsoft cloud solutions, cybersecurity, networking and infrastructure services to a diverse client base. This position combines hands-on 3rd line technical expertise with leadership and strategic input, making it ideal for someone looking to influence both day-to-day delivery and future direction.

What you’ll do

Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex 3rd line issues

Lead the design, implementation and ongoing support of client IT environments

Own high-impact incidents and long-term problem management activities

Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to 1st and 2nd line engineers

Drive best practice across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, networking and security

Play a key role in technical decision-making, tooling and service development

Contribute to documentation, standards and continual service improvement

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, engineers and management to ensure technology decisions align with client requirements and the company’s long-term vision.

What we’re looking for

Proven experience in a senior or 3rd line IT support role

Strong technical expertise across Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows Server

Solid networking knowledge (firewalls, switching, routing, Wi-Fi)

Experience with security tooling, backup solutions and endpoint management

Ability to lead technically, influence direction and take ownership
