My client is a rapidly growing business in a growing, technology led sector.

As the VP of Global IT, you will be responsible for both driving the future IT strategy and ensuring that the business has robust & secure systems in place.

This position requires strategic oversight of the clients IT infrastructure (including systems), cybersecurity and technology-driven innovation. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all systems and IT-related processes meet the needs of our Quality Management System (QMS). This role will focus on optimizing IT systems to enhance operational efficiency and ensure data security across multiple jurisdictions.

The role contains both hands-on and hands-off components, which necessitates technical leadership capability balanced with refined team management skills. .

The VP of Global IT will report directly to the executive leadership team and play a key role in shaping the company's technology landscape, ensuring robust, secure, and scalable systems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
● Develop and lead the implementation of the global IT strategy in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
● Develop the strategy to maximise the use of key data within & out of the organisation in an efficient and results driven way
● Provide strategic oversight of all IT systems and ensure systems' scalability, security, and performance across global operations.
● Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive technological innovation and identify opportunities for digital transformation.
● Ensure cybersecurity measures comply with international data protection laws and industry best practices.
● Oversee global IT operations, including system audits, risk assessments, and the identification and mitigation of vulnerabilities.
● Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency through strategic implementation of process automation, standardized workflows, reusable frameworks, and productivity enhancing solutions.
● Build, lead, and mentor a global IT team, fostering a culture of customer focus, accountability and continuous improvement.
● Lead technological initiatives that enhance business capabilities and market advantages
● Develop and manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high performance and security standards.
● Act as a key partner to the compliance team to ensure that IT systems comply with regulatory and security requirements.
● Develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans, ensuring systems and data are protected and recoverable in the event of incidents.
● Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party software vendors and service providers to ensure the best technology solutions for the company.
● Ensure consistent IT support, troubleshooting, and maintenance across all company locations, meeting agreed service-level objectives.
● Design, develop, implement, and oversee global IT systems, policies, and procedures to maintain operational excellence.
● Create Systems Strategy and Systems Roadmap and facilitate it through project systems and solutions design.
● Champion employee training initiatives to effectively use enterprise software, tools, and systems globally.
● Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain WEP Clinical’s competitive technological edge.

Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
● 10+ years of progressively responsible IT experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
● Proven experience managing global IT operations in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment.
● Demonstrated experience leading transformation and working with disruptive change that enables a future ready organization.
● Expert knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems management, and cybersecurity protocols.
● Strong understanding of data protection laws, compliance, and information security frameworks
● Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor, inspire, and lead high-performing IT teams globally.
● Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to align IT initiatives with broader company goals.
● Experience with budget management and financial oversight for IT departments.
● Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.
● Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
● Strong vendor management skills and experience negotiating with software providers.
● Project management qualifications beneficial, but not mandatory.
