Role:Vehicle Security Architect
Salary:£75,000 DOE

Are you passionate about safeguarding cutting-edge automotive technology?

We're looking for a Vehicle Security Architect to design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions within vehicles, creating a secure architecture to protect the car's electronic systems and networks from potential cyberattacks.

You will be tasked with analysing risks, developing security strategies, and ensuring compliance with automotive cybersecurity standards, working with global manufacturers and suppliers to integrate security measures into new vehicle designs.

As a Vehicle Security Architect, you will:

  1. Design and implement robust security frameworks to protect vehicle networks and electronic control unit (ECUs) systems from cyber threats.
  2. The Technical 2nd Line of Defence review shall focus on the Cyber Security aspects of the Onboard Elements in the Vehicle (ECUs/units in the Network Architecture) and the Offboard (Mobile Communications and Cloud).
  3. As part of the expectation from the CSMS process, the 2nd Line of Defence review is currently mandatory for the Cyber Security Assessment of High and Critical risk projects.
  4. Lead the design of secure software architectures, encryption protocols, and intrusion detection systems.
  5. Ensure compliance with automotive cybersecurity standards.


Key skills/knowledge/experience:

  1. Awareness of Cyber Security Regulations: Knowledge of the CSMS process, UN-R155, UN-R156 regulations, and ISO 21434 is a must.
  2. Knowledge of Cyber Security Controls: Awareness of different Cyber Security Mitigations (Cyber Hygiene, Secure Boot, Signed SW, SecOC, Secure Diagnostics, Secure Debug, etc.) for the ECUs and the Network, as well as knowledge of Security Controls found in SOTA, Mobile Communications, and Cloud.
  3. Knowledge of CSMS Process: Experience in DIA/CIA, Cyber Security Plan, Item Definition, and TARA is the least expectation.
  4. Understanding of the product's architecture and design: Awareness of Network architecture, Communication Protocols, ECU hardware, HSMs, etc.
  5. Strong documentation and communication skills.
