Thecompany's 33,000 employees support vital missions for governmentand commercial customers.What Will you Be Doing?As a result of someexciting programme wins, we currently have a permanent vacancy fora Cyber Security Architect to support the development andtransition into live of a new IT application and infrastructuresolution providing support to a critical operational end user.Leidos is seeking an enthusiastic protective security specialist tolead the implementation and assurance of security within a keydefence project.You will possess specialist skills in all areas ofprotective and information security and have demonstrableexperience of applying security frameworks such as GovernmentFunctional Standard 007.You will be joining a team of highlyskilled and highly motivated individuals who are working on one ofthe UKs leading programmes.Required Skills:As a Cyber SecurityArchitect, you will be able to work with minimal direction on aspecific MOD programme. You will ensure that the solution securitydesign meets the customer functional and non-functional securityrequirements and provides the necessary assurance to our client,highly likely to be backed up by rigorous assurance andcertification processes, normally HMG standards (includingMOD-specific JSP), NCSC and NIST 800 standards.You will haveresponsibility for interfacing to security design partners acrossthe programme, both customer and supplier representatives, andcolleagues within our engineering, service, and businessdevelopment teams. You will ensure that Leidos can establish andmaintain an effective and efficient security architecture for theprogramme, and that the designs will be able to adapt as customerrequirements, legislation and assurance standards change over theprogramme lifespan.Within the programme, the role will primarily beresponsible to a solution architect and Chief Engineer fordeveloping and delivering the relevant elements of the solution,whilst understanding the whole. You will be required to work inboth delivery and change proposal environments.You will have acomplete understanding of cyber risk and treatment approaches.Based on a strong ability to communicate risk and its proportionatemanagement, you will know how this issue is addressed both intraditional ‘on-premise’ highly sensitive platforms, and in publiccloud technologies. You will be experienced and accomplished inmeeting the challenges associated with assuring systems in publicand private cloud environments.You will be required to develophigh- and low-level security architecture designs for systemsintended for secure/sensitive environments, with appropriatesecurity based on detailed risk analysis. SABSA qualifications andexperience would be desirable.You will be required to hold securityclearance under National Security Vetting processes.You may need towork on customer locations or one of our secure developmentlocations, or a mix of both, as well as an element of working fromhome.Essential:British - Non-dual national – many of our projectshave nationality restrictionsDV clearedProcessSkills/Experience:Experience of a taking a defence in depth andmulti layered approach to security architectureExperience ofapplying commensurate detective and protective security controls toreduce risk to an acceptable levelUnderstanding of the controllingprocesses for, and experience of a significant portion of, thesystems engineering lifecycle (e.g. requirements management,configuration management)Understanding of differentlifecycles/methodologies (incremental, SAFe agile,DevOps)Experience of the key engineering lifecycle reviews – e.g.System Requirements Review (SRR), Critical Design Review(CDR)Experience in performing design trade off working with otherarchitects and engineers to deliver an integrated and coherentsolutionUnderstanding of service operations and securityoperational management planningExperience working in both deliveryand proposal environmentsExperience of Defence Digital and relevantsolutions and approaches across MODTechnologyskills/Experience:Excellent understanding of Confidentiality,Integrity and Availability (CIA) and practical experience inapplying thatExperience in defining derived security requirementsfor a system, and managing traceabilityExperience of gaining andmaintaining accreditation or assurance for secure/sensitivesystemsExperience in producing security assurance documentationsets (such as SyOPS, Security Management Plan, ISMS, and to supportDART submissions)Experience of network and boundary protectiontechnologies (firewalls, mail gateways, load balancers,anti-virus), including cross domain technologies.Experience ofauthentication and authorisation technologies (SAML, LDAP, PKI,etc)Experience of security infrastructure in Public and Privatecloud, e.g. virtual network infrastructure, hybrid IaaS/PaaS/SaaSsolutions.Experience of Virtualisation technologies.Understandingof MOD ISN 23/09 Secure by Design.Understanding of theimplementation, operation and maintenance of SIEM productsThe idealcandidate will hold CISSP certification and other industryqualifications such as Risk or Public/Private Cloudcertifications.Ideally be AWS certified and hold a AWScertificationCommunication and Soft Skills:Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills and works well in a teamenvironmentCapable of developing and communicating a vision to meetthe System RequirementsAbility to communicate complex technicalideas across a wide range of different audiencesA good level ofcommercial awareness that will support the bid and deliveryenvironmentsClearance Requirements: Clearance to Start SCClearancefor Role DV​Intrigued?
